The Nigerian Air Force announced on Thursday that its fighter jets conducted airstrikes that resulted in the deaths of several terrorists and the destruction of their weapons, hideouts, and vehicles in Borno State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to NAF, the operations, which targeted insurgent strongholds in Warawara (near Wajiroko) and Chinene in the Mandara Mountains, delivered a significant blow to insurgent activities in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement issued by the Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information, Group Capt. Kabiru Ali, the Air Force explained that the strikes followed intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions, which uncovered terrorist activity including the stockpiling of logistics and the planting of Improvised Explosive Devices around Wajiroko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The statement read, \u201cIn line with its continued counterterrorism operations in the North-East, the Nigerian Air Force executed precise airstrikes on March 26, 2025. NAF aircraft carried out coordinated strikes on terrorist strongholds in Warawara, near Wajiroko, and Chinene in the Mandara Mountains, striking a severe blow to insurgent operations.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The NAF explained that their ISR operations identified a group of terrorists stockpiling logistics and planting IEDs around Wajiroko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Surveillance tracked their movement to a concealed location containing a gun truck, ammunition stockpiles, and fuel reserves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIn response, the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai launched multiple waves of air interdiction missions. The first wave targeted the terrorists\u2019 logistics hub, destroying gun trucks and critical supplies. The second wave followed with sustained rocket and cannon strikes, ensuring the complete destruction of terrorist assets,\u201d the statement continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Later that day, NAF aircraft also targeted another terrorist enclave at Chinene in the Mandara Mountains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Intelligence reports revealed that insurgents had relocated to the area after an earlier air raid on Degbewa on March 16, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Overhead reconnaissance confirmed the presence of active structures, prompting an airstrike that set terrorist hideouts ablaze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fleeing insurgents were subsequently engaged and neutralised, further crippling their operational capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Group Capt. Ali noted that Battle Damage Assessment confirmed the elimination of scores of terrorist fighters and the destruction of their weapons and vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBattle Damage Assessment and corroborating intelligence confirmed the elimination of multiple terrorists, along with the destruction of four gun trucks, two Toyota Hilux vehicles, and several makeshift shelters. The strikes forced the insurgents to abandon their positions, significantly degrading their operational capabilities,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He pledged NAF\u2019s continued commitment to neutralising insurgents, disrupting their logistics, and denying them safe havens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWith sustained pressure on terrorist elements, the NAF remains resolute in its mission to restore peace and security in the country,\u201d Ali stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
