Germany\u2019s President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will arrive in Nigeria today for a three-day official visit, which will run until December 12, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This was announced in a press release issued by the German Embassy in Abuja on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During his stay, Steinmeier will meet with key Nigerian leaders, including President Bola Tinubu and the President of the Economic Community of West African States Commission, Dr. Alieu Touray.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In Abuja, Steinmeier will discuss bilateral relations with Nigerian officials before travelling to Lagos. There, he will engage with business representatives, visit a start-up hub, and meet with prominent figures from Nigeria\u2019s cultural and civil society sectors, such as artist Dr. Nike Okundaye and Nobel laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He will also tour Lagos, gaining insight into the challenges and opportunities of urban development in Africa\u2019s largest city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Steinmeier will be accompanied by a delegation of German business leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe President of the Federal Republic of Germany, His Excellency Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, is set to arrive in Nigeria tomorrow, 10 December. He will stay until the 12th of\u00a0 December 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhile in Abuja, President Steinmeier will meet with the President of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Tinubu as well as with the President of the Commission of Economic Community of West African States, His Excellency Dr. Alieu Touray.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe German President will then proceed to Lagos, where he will engage with business representatives, visit a start-up hub and meet with members of Nigeria\u2019s culture sector and civil society, like Dr. Nike Okundaye, popularly known as Mama Nike of the Nike Art Gallery and the legendary author and Nobel laureate for Literature, Prof. Wole Soyinka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThere will also be an opportunity to tour the city of Lagos and gain insights into the urban development of a megacity, including environmental and social challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
