{"id":12551,"date":"2024-10-22T07:20:08","date_gmt":"2024-10-22T07:20:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/angolanembassy-nga.ao\/?p=12551"},"modified":"2024-10-22T07:20:10","modified_gmt":"2024-10-22T07:20:10","slug":"hardship-those-asking-us-to-overthrow-tinubu-committing-treason-military","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/angolanembassy-nga.ao\/?p=12551","title":{"rendered":"Hardship: Those Asking Us To Overthrow Tinubu Committing Treason \u2013 Military"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>The military high command has warned those calling for the take over the President Bola Tinubu-led government to desist from making such demand.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It specifically said their call was \u201ctreasonable\u201d, warning that such persons would be made to face the wrath of law if they continue to make such calls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Daily Trust had reported how some Nigerians in a viral video blocked some military personnel\u2019s vehicle while calling on them to take over the current administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their demands, as sighted in the viral video, were premised upon the growing hardship in the country occasioned by removal of fuel subsidy and floatation of Naira by the federal government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But reacting to their calls, the Director, Defence Information, Tukur Gusau, said they are plotting to cause disharmony in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gusau, a Brigadier-General, explained that the military does not have reasons to take over the government because they have enjoyed enormous support from the President.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The relative peace being enjoyed today is a direct result of the President\u2019s support for the military and the dedication of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) leadership,\u201d the senior military officer said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to him, the military is steadfastly committed to the preservation and advancement of Nigeria\u2019s democracy, and that they are loyal to the Tinubu-led administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He stated: \u201cThose advocating for a military takeover, as seen in a viral video, should be aware that such actions are treasonable under the Constitution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe AFN is steadfastly committed to the preservation and advancement of our democracy and is loyal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu\u2019s administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe military remains focused on achieving its statutory responsibilities of protecting the nation\u2019s integrity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTo this end, the AFN and relevant security agencies have been mandated to take necessary action against any individual or group advocating for unconstitutional changes in the country.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The military high command has warned those calling for the take over the President Bola Tinubu-led government to desist from making such demand.
